80 let Plzeň trolejbusová / 80 years of Pilsen trolleybus
Experience with us the story of trolleybuses in Pilsen. The difficult beginnings, the boom era, hard times, but also renaissance. However, we will not only tell the story of the development of one means of transport, but above all also the story of the West Bohemian metropolis. The new constructions, cancellations and relocations of trolleybus lines are a unique record of the city's changes, as if the trolleybus network were a nourishing blood vessel that branched and withered as the imaginary tree crown of the city's streets grew, greened, pruned or withered. The symbiosis of trolleybuses with Pilsen will be described not only through many high-quality colour photographs, insights into documentation, but also through unique memories from people who dedicated part of their lives to trolleybuses. The book is written in Czech and contains abbreviated English version.
The Trolleybuses 2021 project covers the publication of a pair of popular-educational books focusing on trolleybus transport. The authors present the story of 80 years of trolleybus operation in the city of Pilsen and 85 years of Škoda trolleybus production. The two books complement each other and each of them provides a unique testimony about the fate of trolleybuses and their coping with the vagaries of time. The authors have been interested in the history of trolleybuses and urban transport for a long time, have realized many publishing activities and several exhibitions.
